Reed Hook Tower is a project focusing on the development of a building with mixed-use development, that in a time in desperate need of renewable building materials, with a plot ratio of 250%, challenges contemporary technology and principles in construction in wood.

With a building site in Brooklyn’s former industrial and crime embossed waterfront neighborhood; Red Hook, the project examines how timber construction can bring both local and global environments towards more sustainable solutions.

With concern for architectural and construction traditions in timber construction, the project attempts to move the front lines of contemporary architecture by implementing new manufacturing and design technologies. This is achieved through full empathy and complex understanding of how the material; tectonic, spatial, cultural and environmental quality as a whole can be combined for a universal sustainable architecture.
